BUP organises cultural programme and prize giving ceremony

On September 23, the final round and prize distribution ceremony of a two-day BUP Cultural Fest-2017 was held at Bangladesh University of Professionals. The programme was conducted by BUP cultural club under the supervision of disaster and human security management of faculty of arts and social sciences.

Major General Md Salahuddin Miaji, the vice chancellor of BUP was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.  All together 360 contestants from 10 universities and 2 medical colleges have taken part in the cultural festival.

In the final round, Jahangirnagar University won the champion trophy while BUP secured first runner-up and Armed Forces Medical College secured 2nd runner-up trophy.

Besides BUP high officials, teachers, officers, students, invited guest from different universities and contestants have participated in the fest. The judge panel included Sharmin Sultana Sumi of Circikut band, Actor Shampa Reza, Shibli Mahmud. Nazmul Hossain, secretary of Jahangirnagar Sanskritik Jote said, ‘Jahangirnagar University is known as a cultural capital, we want to enrich the culture of our university and urged the administration to help the cultural organisations for develop the cultural activities’.

On September 28, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh organized freshers’ orientation programme for its fall intake at the university’s Dhanmondi campus. The orientation consisted of mixed media and video presentations about ULAB’s vision, mission, code of conduct, handbook, library, career services and other facilities.

On 27 September, a reception programme of successful students of HSC 2017 organised by Eastern University was held at the EU premise. Nearly 800 students from all over the Bangladesh participated in the ceremony. The minister of education, Nurul Islam Nahid was present as the chief guest in the programme.
