Gupi Gain o Bagha Bain staged at Eastern University


On Tuesday, December 19, the Eastern University Drama and Theatre Forum–EUDTF has organised an alluring show of their 9th drama production titled, ‘Gupi Gain O Bagha Bain.’ A dramatic representation of Upendro Kishore Roy Chowdhury’s story was staged at the Shawkat Usman Smriti Auditorium of the Central Public Library, Shahbagh. The show lasted for one hour in the afternoon. Many from academia, media, and students of EU attended the show.

The drama was directed by Shatel Kabir, a theatre activist and news producer at Independent Television. The drama was an engaging one and earned accolades of the audience. Amateur artists from EUDTF who are students of Eastern University at different departments acted in the drama. It is a fantasy adventure comedy which celebrates the vital scope of music in liberating human soul.

National award winner playwright, television drama and stage play director Masum Reza graced the show with his presence as the chief guest.

On Thursday, December 21, a daylong short course on ‘CRISPR: A Genome Editing Technology’ was organised by the department of Computer Science and Engineering of BRAC University at the Bistro Central restaurant in Mohakhali, Dhaka.
